The Only U.S. Longevity Doctor with Two Decades of Daily Experience Caring for a Centenarian
While many longevity experts study populations of centenarians or publish research on groups of long-lived adults, very few physicians, if any, can say they have personally walked alongside a single centenarian, day in and day out, for nearly two decades.
I had the extraordinary privilege of caring for my grandmother, Martina, who lived in her own home of more than 40 years until just shy of her 106th birthday when she passed away while taking a nap.
My role was not that of a distant researcher, but as her only physician, designing daily routines, nutritional strategies, and lifestyle adjustments that allowed her to thrive into her second century of life.
My grandmother took no prescription medications, simply because she didn't need them. She only took a handful of supplements that I handpicked for her based on her needs. She lived in her own home next to the church where she attended mass every day for over 50 years.
This hands-on, personal journey has shaped my entire philosophy of medicine and aging.
My formal foundation in Longevity Medicine began at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, located in one of the world’s five official Blue Zones, regions where people regularly live beyond 100 in good health.
At Loma Linda, I trained under pioneers such as Dr. John Scharffenberg, a legendary nutrition professor and Blue Zone resident who, at over 100 years old himself, has spent more than 70 years studying and teaching about nutrition and longevity.
Caring daily for a centenarian for more than 20 years, combined with my medical training in a Blue Zone community, over 20 years devoted exclusively to Longevity Medicine, and more than 30 years as a physician, has given me a unique and unmatched perspective on how to extend healthspan and preserve vitality.
Today, through my private medical practice, I bring this lived wisdom together with the latest advances in longevity medicine, neuroscience, genomics, and regenerative medicine, offering a blueprint for patients who want to not only live longer but live independently and in good health.
